This year’s program will take place virtually on Tuesday, October 27 at 1 – 4:30 pm EST, and has been modified to be geared directly towards association/nonprofit executives. Executives may invite leaders from their Boards (e.g. Chair/President, President-Elect, Board Member At Large, etc.) if they would like. See below for more information on registering additional participants.

For associations and nonprofits, the path to achieving its goals begins with strong leadership. The relationship between the staff executive and the Board - particularly Board leadership - heavily influences the organization’s overall success from year to year.

In order to flourish, this relationship must be a true partnership. Therefore, it is imperative that both partners maintain a clear understanding of each other’s perspective, the balance of roles and responsibilities, and how the other approaches problems and makes decisions.

The Executive Partnership Forum features facilitated discussions that will provide executives and their board leaders tools to help navigate these relationships and maximize the strength of the organization’s professional and volunteer leadership team.

Based on results from a survey of ISAE executive members, this year’s program will focus on the following key topics:

  • Appreciating the Strategic Delineation of Roles, Responsibilities and Authority
  • The Importance of Executive Level Strategic Thinking vs. Strategic Planning
  • Creating & Sustaining a Healthy Board/Staff Culture
